Kevin Lampkin, P.Eng

Founder and Director

Starting from the humble beginnings of a basement home office, Kevin launched Lampkin Structural Services in 1996, as one-man operation; he has since watched it grow into the reputable company it is today. Prior to launching Lampkin Structural Services, Kevin worked for different engineering firms for 15 years, developing his trade as Construction Manager in charge of review of structural elements during construction. It was during this time he developed his niche in temporary structures.

Kevin primarily provides structural engineering services to contractors during the construction phase. This ranges from shoring requirements to various access scaffold systems and shop drawings for various materials such as metal studs/ roof anchors. Additionally, Kevin provides engineering for contractors and home owners for structural framing/foundation of new renovations and investigations.

Kevin enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife Natalie, socializing, traveling and exercising. Kevin is proud of his two adult children who have spread their wings into their own niches. Son, Chris, is a Dental Anesthesiologist and daughter, Natasha, is a Communications and Marketing Specialist.


Omar Abdelalim, P.Eng, Ph.D

Managing Director

Omar first joined Lampkin Structural Services in 2014 as a Structural Engineer; through his hard work and dedication, has since transitioned into the role of President.

Omar holds over 10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer. Omar obtained his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2005 and 2008; respectively. He then obtained his PhD in 2013 from Carleton University in Structural Engineering focusing on the effect of Blast and Impact Loadings on Structures.

Omar primarily focuses on temporary shoring, excavation shoring, seismic analysis and design of new construction including reinforced concrete, steel and wood buildings. Omar is also experienced in the structural assessment of existing structures, identifying foundation problems and introducing different foundation repair options such as wall replacement, underpinning, etc.

In his free time, Omar enjoys outdoor activities and playing sports especially soccer, cycling and Tennis. Omar has a great passion for sport cars and motorcycles.


Frank Wang, EIT

Senior Structural Designer

With over 20 years of structural design and site related services experience in Canada and overseas, Frank’s focus is on provide engineering designs, drawings and project site review for different temporary works such as: scaffolds, working platforms, formwork and falsework, shoring for structural frames and multi-storey concrete structures, swing stages and multi-point suspended work platforms, etc.


Domenic Bellardini, P.Eng

Structural Engineer

Domenic joined Lampkin Structural Services in 2017 after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa. During his time as a “Gee-Gee”, Domenic was a member of the University of Ottawa Football Team, where he was distinguished as an Academic All-Canadian.

Domenic primarily focuses on the structural design and field review of various temporary structures including, but not limited to, temporary shoring, formwork, and falsework. In addition, Domenic is also experienced in the structural analysis and design of wood, steel, and reinforced concrete for both new construction and existing residential structures.

In his free time, Domenic enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with his wife, playing sports with his friends, and being with family. Domenic also has a passion for woodworking where he enjoys making gifts for family and friends.


Benjamin Benjamin Falconer, P.Eng

Structural Engineer

Benjamin joined Lampkin Structural Services as a Structural Engineer in March 2022. He graduated from Carleton University in 2016, with his Bachelors of Civil Engineering. Benjamin has amassed over 5 years of experience in structural engineering specializing in residential new and existing residential construction.

In his free time, Ben enjoys supporting local hockey teams like the Ottawa Senators and the Ottawa 67s and attending live musical performances.


John Ballantyne, EIT

Structural Designer

John joined Lampkin Structural Services in 2021 after graduating from Carleton University with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. John’s focus is on the structural design and assessment of residential projects such as: renovations, additions, custom homes, foundation repairs, and existing structures. In addition, John is involved in the design and conducting site reviews related to temporary shoring for residential projects.


Dambar GC, M.Eng, EIT

Structural Designer

Dambar joined Lampkin structural Services Ltd. in November 2021 as AutoCad technician and Junior Engineer. Originally from Nepal, Dambar completed his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering at Trihuvan University (Kirtipur, Nepal) and worked as an Engineer for 4 years, prior to moving to Ottawa in 2019 to pursue his M.Eng. Dambar specializes in concrete, steel and wood design, as well as concrete testing and foundation repairs.

In his spare time, Dambar enjoys spending time with his family and a good game of soccer, whether on the field or as a spectator.


Barbara Mendes

CAD Technician

Barbara joined Lampkin Structural Services in January 2022 as AutoCAD Technician.  She obtained her Architectural Technologist Diploma from Algonquin College in 2021 and is skilled in technical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. She is responsible for drafting As-built and Proposed drawings for any kind of project (residential, commercial or temporary structures) and for updating the office's CAD libraries.
 
Barbara is easygoing and spends her free time doing puzzles, Arts & Crafts or exploring Ottawa.


Sundus Al-Sammrai

Office Manager

Sundus joined Lampkin Structural Services as Office Manager in September 2021. She holds an Architecture degree, as well as a diploma in Banking, Finance and Accounting. Sundus is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliation, and overall office administration.

Sundus enjoys taking walks in nature with her camera, and letting out her creative side through oil-painting, watercolor, acrylic and pencils, which she picked up from a very young age.
